Sara Derebery joined Charlotte Bridge Home in November of 2012, as the first Social Worker for the organization. She stood up the first social work program and helped grow the partner foundation for Veteran referrals. Sara later joined America’s Warrior Partnership, a national non-profit organization, where she provided consultancy, coaching, mentoring, and management of new and budding Veterans’ reintegration programs across the nation. While with that organization, she moved into the position of Grants & Compliance Manager, ensuring stewardship and qualitative as well as quantitative program deliverables and metrics. Through these experiences, she gained the insight and knowledge necessary to become a data analyst for the organization, assisting with the interpretation of data, correlation of metrics, and gleaning of the most important data necessary to create movement in the Veteran space, through their annual survey. Graduating with her Masters in Social Work from Adelphi University in New York, as well as receiving her undergraduate degree in Social Work from the University of Anchorage, Alaska, Sara has been able to translate and apply her many experience with the military (active duty enlisted, dependent spouse, and Army National Guard HR Officer) to her career. She has dedicated herself and her work to military, veterans, and their families, and continues to do so in her new role with Charlotte Bridge Home as Network Director, ensuring the strength and collaboration necessary to implement this national initiative empowering communities to collaborate and come together using a collective impact model.
